About the Project

“Vet opportunities for migrants and refugees” (acronym “VET4MIGRE” is a project approved under the Erasmus Plus program KA2 Strategic Partnerships for VET Development of innovation (Action No. 2017-1-DK01-KA202-034224).

The project starts from the result of a research conducted by the European Commission in 2015 (according to which more than 1.8 million immigrants of non-European origin reside in Europe and risk to be marginalized) and from the observation of the situation of difficulties that migrants and refugees encounter in destination countries.

It is therefore more important than ever to develop new, creative and far-sighted strategies and practical ways, so that the refugee and migrant population adapts, integrates and becomes a positive member in the host country: one of the safest ways seems to be to integrate them into the labor market by offering training and mentoring opportunities necessary to become self-employed, as migrants and refugees can indeed become an important workforce for the host countries.

So the project, in line with the above, wants to try to include migrants in the European economy by favouring:

  1. strengthening skills in ICT and innovations;
  2. improvement of soft skills, abilities and competences,
  3. promotion and exchange of good practices
  4. development of situations that facilitates better integration

Output

Intellectual Output

The project will develop the following four intellectual outputs of different types (reports, guides, DVDs, Internet platform), on which the whole partnership will work for a period of 28 months:

  1. Target Groups Report based on a context survey done in all partner countries in relation to migrant inclusion in EU local economies
  2. Guide for Migrants Entrepreneurs
  3. Tool Kit for VET Migrants’ Providers
  4. Online Migrants Entrepreneurship Course

Other outcomes

Other outcomes to be realized are:

  1. Project brand;
  2. Web site (in all partners languages and in English);
  3. Leaflet (in all partners languages and in English);
  4. Research of best practices;
  5. e-Book of smart practises;
  6. Facebook page;
  7. Facebook group;
  8. Mailgroup;

Events

The project will develop also the following activities:

a Joint Staff Training Event in which the staff will learn the methodology of a fast teaching in language course (expected in Bulgaria in April 2019)

5 Transnational Project meetings to reflect on, monitor and evaluate the activities developed and to plan the new ones in Denmark, Perfugas (IT), Spain, Greece and Potenza (IT)

5 Multiplier Events in which all the outcomes will be publicized/popularized in Denmark, Italy, Greece, Spain and Bulgaria
